All these numbers and formulas will kill me one day. I can not say that it is a difficult stuff, but it happens that I make silly mistakes which damage important solving. Last month I was going to extra lessons for those who are going to retake, we actually revised all the most important topics like, straight lines, quadratics, logarithms and all the statistics, including standard deviation and variance. In my opinion, it were really helpful lessons and I liked the teacher. On weekends I had a go on 4 past papers, final results were good, but at home even walls help and on the exam things around don’t look as nice, it only makes concentration on the subject more difficult.
Economics
Although I prefer Macroeconomics to Microeconomics, first time I got a lower mark on it. So I decided to retake, just in case I got better luck this time. The most difficult part for me was always the ability to apply everything to the real life. Unless you do it, you won’t get a high mark in any essay question. This time students have to write 2 questions from part B and moreover 2 questions from part C. It is not fair at all! We have the same time, but one more task. So I asked my boyfriend to help me. He is already doing second year of Economics at university and can see the things wider than me. I’ve done my own style revision notes for economics growth, unemployment, fiscal and monetary policies, aggregate demand, its management and aggregate supply. Five evenings I was doing multiple-choice questions and my boyfriend was checking them after. In the beginning a had about 5 correct answers out of 25, but after some practice a was managing to get more than 20 correct answers.
Business
I suppose this exam to be the easiest one. As I was doing this course during all third term, knowledge is still fresh, thus less preparation time was required for this exam. However, my friend and me have spent 2 full days only on revision. We have looked on all topics, starting from market segmentation and methods of research. After this we revised product life cycle and Boston Consultancy Group matrix together with marketing strategies and marketing mix. Unfortunately I did not have enough time to do a lot with past papers. But I plant to have a look at them if I have some time in the end of studying.
