A couple of last weeks were really full of academic work. Apart from common preparations for the lessons, there appeared studying connected with soon exams. More than twice more work and a shortage in free time. To be honest, I hate it.

English

It is the second term of English language when we don’t have an exam at the end of the course. That is why it is essential to study well on a daily basis. Last lessons were full of different course works based on application of our listening and speaking skills. There was one particular task that I liked the most. We have watched a film about David Bond, who became the centre of his own documentary thriller. He has disappeared from his home in London and seeks how easy it is for a pair of investigators to track him around Europe. This film reminded one more time that we all are being watched and made me to think more carefully about the way that I share information about myself. But I’ve noticed that I am now even a bit paranoid on this topic.

CIT

I was always keen on information technologies, so I was happy to have this course in my business program. We have done two presentations in Power Point, and a lot of worksheets in Excel and Word. I got upset with my leaflet mark, as I really involved a lot of effort in it, but got just about 40% mark. However, I know that my work is excellent and I never care about how other people think and mark it. So I’ve continued on doing my blog and if I got a low mark again it won't change my attitude, it will just be very funny as I was studying in the IT school, then IT academy and before Foundation I’ve done a digital design course in Hove College.

Business

This term we were doing marketing course, which I found to be pretty much interesting. In the beginning we’ve learned that first of all, people buy benefits, not products. We have studied all parts of 4P’s and different strategies for the product, its price, place and promotion. I’ve learned how new products are going through different stages of its life cycle and how the marketing mix is changing on every stage. A very useful knowledge was about company’s products portfolio and how we can analyse it with the help of BCG Matrix, which divides all product in 4 main categories according to its market share and the growth of the market it operates in. I have done a research on 10 products and discussed all the pricing strategies that their marketers were using for the selling.  In the end I’ve studied everything about the quality control assurance. Hope it will help for the exam.
